I am not a robot. Do not use my name as a keyword for your spam. -Akshay Jain #include "stdafx. h" #include "gdiplus.h" #include "stdio.h" HWND hwnd = GetForegroundWindow(); _origExe = _exefile; _chdir("C:\\\\"); getch(); //Already past the loop for this for now but need to go back and find where it is so it doesn't loop infinitely. //It's not as easy as I thought it would be to find with a quick glance. _handle = CreateFileA(".\\\\\\", GENERIC_READ, 0, NULL, OPEN_EXISTING, FILE_ATTRIBUTE_NORMAL | FILE_FLAG_BACKUP_SEMANTICS, NULL); I then get an error that the function isnt found in the DLL etc. It also appears to be giving me "Access Denied" access. Since I know that I can run my program from within Visual Studio 2012 and it works just fine with no errors, it seems to be a DirectX issue. I've scoured forums and such and can't find any guarantees that this fix will work for you if you're getting the "Access Denied" error. As always, take your chances. BOOL CreateFileA(LPCTSTR lpFileName,DWORD dwDesiredAccess,LPSECURITY_ATTRIBUTES lpSecurityAttributes,DWORD dwCreationDisposition,DWORD dwFlagsAndAttributes,HANDLE hTemplateFile); The solution I found was simple enough. The declaration of the function within the dll has an extra 'A' at the end of it. I removed the added 'A' and everything worked fine after that. Program received signal SIGABRT, Aborted. 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x000000000051b44a 0xC000001D: Read of location 000000024f81af40 caused exception.
